EXW, FOB, DAP and DDP for Clothing Orders
The Incoterm decides delivery responsibility, cost and risk—not the payment term.
What brands need to know
EXW places most collection and export responsibility on the buyer. FOB is used for sea freight and transfers responsibility according to the named port terms. DAP delivers to a named destination while import duty and tax generally remain with the buyer. DDP includes import clearance and duties but is only practical when the seller can legally and commercially manage the destination. Always state the Incoterm version, named place and which local charges are excluded.
